Attacking
In chess, attacking is a nice way to earn checkmate. When you are a spectator, the player makes it look easy. This is so because good attacking players shove everything they have at the opposing king. They use the pawns to break the king's defensive barrier, then the rooks and bishops to break down the defense made by minor and/or major pieces. Then the queen comes in after that and finishes it all of with a remaining pawn or something.
In attacking chess, you must have a strong willpower telling you that you will win. Also, the right moves must be played or else the attacker ends up with a crumbling position, lost material, and a lost game.
Sometimes you attack when the enemy king's defense is weak or you have an open file in front of it. Maybe the king's have castled on the opposite sides. Also, if you are the exchange down and it is a life-or-death situation, you must attack to win the game.
When you attack, you are in your strongest position, but weakest. That is why it is important to practice. Try your hand at the puzzles below. See if you can solve them.
